Green in blue jeans (France)

YRE Competition 2021
Shared 1st Place - video reportage
19-25 years old

The textile industry is responsible for nearly 10% of global carbon dioxide emissions. Greenhouse gas causing global warming. In France, nearly 700 tonnes of textiles arrive on the market each year, including nearly 90 million jeans. An extremely polluting garment since its design requires 1kg of cotton and 11,000 liters of water. Cotton production, dyeing, sewing ... The stages of its production are so dispersed that a single pair of jeans can travel up to 65,000 km, or one and a half times around the earth. Meeting with inspiring actors who embody solutions to rethink the way you buy your jeans.
