From towering mangrove forests, vast expanses of marshland, and shimmering ponds, wetlands provide shelter for almost 40% of the world's species. But they are far more than just a biodiversity hotspot. These unique ecosystems play a critical role in mitigating the effects of climate change, acting as carbon sinks and protecting us from natural disasters like floods and droughts.
