Six-month Internship at the Foundation for Environmental Education with the Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) programmes

The Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) is looking for two interns who would like to become part of our team at our headquarters here in Copenhagen. We are looking for interns for our educational department which consists of three programmes: Eco-Schools (ES), Learning about Forests(LEAF) and Young Reporters for the Environment (YRE).

We are looking for two interns who have a keen interest in:

  1. Communication and graphic design
  2. Management Information Systems (MIS), database management and administrative work

The responsibilities of the positions are split between the three programmes and tasks. The internship period will be from approx. 15 October 2018 until 15 April 2019 (approx. 6 months) for Communication and PR and from approx. 15 October 2018 until 15 January 2019 for Administration and database management.

Main tasks and responsibilities

1.   Communication and PR

  • Development of PR materials (e.g. infographics, short video tutorials etc.) for Eco-Schools, LEAF, and YRE
  • Composing news articles/posts for websites and social media
  • Research and development of newsletters
  • Maintenance of Social Media accounts, particularly Facebook, Twitter and Instagram
  • Website maintenance

2. Administration and database management

  • Identify and create a MIS system that includes:
    • Updating of databases
    • Data collection and analysis
    • Presentation of information using various means (e.g. infographics, audio-visual, etc.
  • Assist with administrative and other diverse duties
  • Project management tasks– technical responsibilities

Terms and conditions

  • Unpaid internship for a duration of approximately six months
  • Full-time, 37 hour work week 
  • Successful applicants should start ideally in the middle of October 2018
  • Successful applicants will be provided with a workspace at FEE Head Office
  • Successful applicants will be responsible for securing their own accommodation and arranging their transport between home and FEE Head Office in Sydhavn, Copenhagen 2450
  • English is the official language at FEE Head Office and a strong proficiency in this is required
  • Successful applicants may have to travel in Europe in connection with the position
  • Successful applicants may be offered the opportunity to take online courses for specific programmes to fulfill tasks e.g. Podio management or Visme

Note: Some of the above conditions are negotiable once you have been chosen for the position.

Required skills and experience

  • Good knowledge of written and spoken English
  • Precise and organised way of working
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office package
  • Capability of working in a team as well as independently
  • Comfortable working in a multicultural environment

Highly valued

  • Knowledge on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) and environmental issues
  • Fluency in other languages
  • Knowledge of photography, video editing and/or animation tools, and social media

Administration and Communications Internship at the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE)

The foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) is looking for an intern who would like to become part of our team at our headquarters here in Copenhagen. We are looking for an intern who has a keen interest in communications and PR and is interested in both organisational development and administrative structure.

The responsibilities of the position are split between administrative tasks (50%) and  communications and PR tasks (50%). The internship period will be from 15 October 2018 until 15 April 2019.

Main tasks and responsibilities

Administration Tasks

  • Support with presentations and various reports
  • Support CEO and Administrative Director on various tasks
  • Support our FEE members and network
  • Update and maintain member databases 
  • Organise travel arrangements and meetings

Communications and PR Tasks

  • Write news stories for FEE website and newsletter
  • Maintain our internal platforms and social media
  • Website maintenance and SEO strategy
  • Assist on a new internal media resource guide
  • Video production

Terms and Conditions

  • Unpaid internship for a duration period of six months.
  • Full-time, 37 hour work week 
  • The successful applicant will be provided with a work space at the FEE Head Office.
  • The successful applicant will be responsible for their own accommodation and transport between home and the FEE Head Office.
  • English is the official language at the FEE Head Office.
  • The applicant must be an EU citizen or must have an EU work permit valid for Denmark before starting the internship.

Required skills and experience

  • Fluent in written and spoken English (level C1 in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages)
  • University level education, ideally in HR, Communications or Media.
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office package and knowledge of Adobe.
  • A flair for digital design and an understanding of online social media.
  • Capability to work in a team as well as independently.
  • Comfortable working in a multicultural environment.

Sustainable tourism related 6-month internship at the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE)

The Foundation for Environmental Education is looking for an intern that would like to work with our tourism-related environmental programmes Blue Flag and Green Key from 15 October 2018 until 15 April 2019 (start date can be discussed). The main areas of work will be communications and PR as well as administrative tasks.

Main tasks and responsibilities

Communications and PR

  • Compose news articles for website and social media
  • Social Media maintenance and monitoring
  • Development of PR materials for the Blue Flag and Green Key programme (including programme work with SDGs, video production, website maintenance, etc.)

 Administrative tasks

  • Assist with general Blue Flag/Green Key administrative tasks
  • Maintain the best practice databases of the two programmes

Terms and conditions

  • Unpaid internship for a duration of a minimum of six months in 2018/2019
  • Full-time, 37 hour work week 
  • The successful applicant will be provided with a work space at the FEE Head Office
  • The successful applicant will be responsible for their own accommodation and transport between home and the FEE Head Office
